When I Fly Towards You makes a wrong name stick
Su Zaizai starts school with a head full of rumors. A name on a book and a purse at lost property give her just enough information to draw the wrong conclusion.

The name mix-up works because the script lets small acts of kindness shape Zaizai’s judgment. It is funniest when she is most sure she has the story right.
The book seems to settle it
Zaizai and Jiang Jia have already heard about two high-achieving boys by the time they get to school. At the gate, an adult reads Zhang Lurang’s name off a book and takes it as proof of who is holding it. The boy objects, but the name goes on the list anyway. I like how quickly the script turns a routine school rule into a reason to doubt introductions. Everybody is in such a rush to get the first day right that the obvious objection gets lost.
The purse gives the mistake a reason to last
Both boys’ names are listed at lost property. Zaizai recognizes the boy from the shop when Gu Ran’s name is called, and that is enough for her to put the name and the face together. The script lets the boys joke about the switched names after she leaves. Later, she tells someone she admires Gu Ran for returning the purse, while dismissing Zhang Lurang. The joke has more bite by then because she has turned an uncertain name into an opinion about somebody’s character.
A diary preserves the first draft
The closing diary starts with military training and snacks. Then Zaizai thanks her purse for giving her another encounter and a name to remember. That everyday list gives the crush a place in a life already in motion. I would keep watching to see what happens when she has to revise the version she’s so pleased to have on record.
